Footage showing President Donald Trump dictating a Truth Social Post to aide Natalie Harp has recently surged online in the wake of Sen. Jon Ossoff’s comments insinuating that the two spend a lot of time together.

Interest in Harp has skyrocketed since Ossoff’s campaign rally Sunday, when he said the president “doesn’t want to do the job; he wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie.” Google Trends reports searches for her name have spiked by around 5,000% compared to this time last year.

The clip that is now circulating is from the second season, fourth episode of “Art of the Surge,” a docuseries on Trump’s reelection campaign that streamed on Fox Nation, Fox’s streaming service, in 2024. The full episode featuring the clip was posted on X (click here to watch) in October 2024 and has since racked up over 9.8 million views.

The director, Justin Wells, did not respond to HuffPost’s request for comment as of reporting.

The episode focuses on Trump’s reaction to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ speech at the Democratic National Convention, in which he dictates to Harp what he would like to post on Truth Social.

“She’s talking about great San Francisco was before she destroyed it,” Trump says at one point while Harp types. “A lot of talk about childhood, we’ve got to get to the border, inflation and crime.”

Both statements were separateTruth Social posts, shared within minutes of each other on Aug. 22, 2024. (It is not clear why certain words are capitalized in the posts.)

Politics: One Of Trump’s Very Closest Aides Is Now Under A Microscope

“[Harp] is laser focused, you can tell with the speed that she’s going on every word that he says — so there’s a really tight connection there,” Traci Brown, a body language expert and behavior analyst, told HuffPost. “At times, his back was turned to her, and she’s still right there on his shoulder. There’s for sure a lot of urgency on her part to please him.”

While the two are clearly in front of a crew recording the docuseries, Brown said it’s unlikely that the surrounding cameras are influencing their behavior — especially since the cameras cut to other people in the room, including Tulsi Gabbard, Stephen Miller and former Rep. Matt Gaetz, who are not acting the same way.

“There’s a comfort there between them,” Brown said. “There isn’t any faking it, and if there is, fake only lasts for so long. Obviously they’ve been in [the room] for hours.”

In terms of whether the cameras had any influence, behavioral scientist Abbie Maroño told HuffPost that, “Trump is focused primarily on the television and reacts quite freely to what he is watching.”

Maroño also noted a clear hierarchical relationship between the two.

“His communication is very direct and matter-of-fact,” she said, emphasizing that he does not seem to be slowly or clearly dictating his statements, as someone might for another person transcribing them. “He does not seem to soften the instruction, explain much, or spend time checking that she understands.”

The pair just seem very comfortable in this situation and environment: Trump knows Harp will follow his instructions and execute them as he wants, without needing to double-check; he also appears very at ease and calm.

For Harp, Maroño said she looks “very comfortable” in her situation because ’there is no obvious hesitation or excessive formality in the way she behaves.”

“[It] suggests she is very used to working around him in this way,” Maroño said.

Is Natalie Harp posting everything on Truth Social?

Harp is not the only person with access to Truth Social, according to reports. CNN White House correspondent Alayna Treene reported in February that Harp “will type out posts that are dictated to her” and Dan Scavino, White House deputy chief of staff, also has access.

Scavino did not respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

“Natalie Harp is one of the most loyal and hardest-working aides on President Trump’s team,” Davis Ingle, a White House spokesperson, told HuffPost. “TRUTH Social is the most powerful and popular social media platform in the world because it serves as President Trump’s authentic voice, where he communicates directly with the American people and the world without the biased media taking him out of context.”

Ingle did not respond to follow-up questions about whether posts are reviewed before publication or who else besides Harp has access to the account.
