The near half century wait is over!

The Milwaukee Brewers have won the National League pennant for the first time since 1982 after defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4 in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series on Thursday night.

It's only the Brewers second ever World Series appearance, with the franchise coming up short in a seven-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals more than four decades ago.

Milwaukee has come close before, making it to the NLCS three times in the last 15 years but coming up short each time.

It's an extra sweet feeling for the Brewers, who returned the favor the Dodgers by sweeping them after L.A. swept Milwuakee in last year's NLCS en route to winning back-to-back World Series.

Who will Brewers play in the World Series?

While the NLCS has been decided, the Brewers await their opponent with the American League Championship Series still going on between the Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays.

This outcome means Milwaukee will be well rested for Game 1 of the World Series with a week off in between games.

Who has home field advantage in World Series 2026?

It keeps getting better for the Brewers, who have home field advantage throughout this year's Fall Classic due to having the best record (103-59) and winning percentage (.636) during the regular season.

Milwaukee will host World Series Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 of the World Series while World Series Games 3,4 and 5 will be held in Cleveland or Tampa Bay.
