"It's not that I don't have people and naysayers and people who comment all kinds of stuff still to this day. I don't know when people will stop doing that. I don't think it ever will happen," she said.

Metz recalled a recent conversation with a distant relative who congratulated her for "taking control of your weight," noting that "weight has always been an issue in our family."

The actress said the comment was easier to process because the relative is also an overweight woman and understands what it is like to navigate the world in a larger body. Other comments, she admitted, can be much harder to brush off.

"It's interesting what people say cause would they ever say it to you on the streets? Never. Never," the American Horror Storyalum explained, adding, "They're like, 'Oh, Chrissy, you're pretty, but them eyebrows.' I'm like, 'Oh my god, it doesn't matter what I do. It doesn't matter.'"

Chrissy Metz admitted the constant commentary could be 'taxing.'MEGA

According to the Broadway star, she has been criticized whether she is losing weight or not.

"Why'd you wear that? Why did you do this? Like why aren't you losing weight? Oh, you're losing weight?" she recalled.

"It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what you do. And I know it's not personal, but it can be taxing, but you sometimes just got to just shut it off cuz no matter what you do, somebody's going to have something to say," Metz continued.

She said she had been hesitant to try one for roughly six years, but her perspective changed after her father died from complications related to obesity.

"I have to do something about it," Metz said of her decision, adding, "And so, yeah...I feel better on the medication."

One of the biggest changes she has noticed is a reduction in what she describes as "food noise."

"It's so nice not to be obsessing about what I'm going to have every minute, even as I'm still consuming the meal. I just vilified food for so long because I was taught that it was bad, and you shouldn't eat this or that," she said.

Chrissy Metz said she became more mobile after starting GLP-1.MEGA

The singer has also said she has experienced less joint pain and inflammation and has found it easier to move around, something particularly meaningful as she performs on Broadway.

Still, she knows the commentary isn't likely to disappear.

"Listen, when it comes to me, everybody is judgy. It doesn't matter what I do," she stated.

"My life is my life, and I have to do what's best for me," Metz added.
