Legendary actress Glenn Close recently struck a nostalgic chord when she donned a "New York Knights" varsity jacket during an outing in New York City.

The blue jacket with cream sleeves features the logo of the fictional baseball team from 79-year-old Close's and the late Robert Redford's popular 1984 sports drama, The Natural. In the film, Redford played the baseball phenom Roy Hobbs, while Close played his high school sweetheart, Iris Gaines.

During the outing, the prolific actress flashed a cheerful smile at the photographers in NYC, before handing off the cane she was utilizing to playfully pose with her hands in her pockets. This comes after Glenn Close sparks health concerns with 'chilling' sunset goodbye video.

Fans gushed over the paparazzi picture, with one writing on Reddit, "i just love her. i've been watching All's Fair and she's just such a legend."

While another added, "Wait that's an incredible fit."

Close and Redford shared a bond that went beyond their time as co-stars. The actress frequently paid tribute to Redford, who passed away in September 2025. She previously called him her "best onscreen kiss" and has even recounted a humorous story about how she was once "too clueless" to realize that Redford's post-filming dinner invitation was actually a romantic date.

Speaking with Julia Louis-Dreyfus on the fourth season premiere of her podcast, Wiser Than Me, Close recalled how Redford "invited me to a very romantic restaurant where we had dinner together. And I was too clueless and unknowing and unsure to even consider that I might have dated him."

"I didn't know," Close recalled. "But lucky you, you got to work with him," said Louis-Dreyfus. "You lucky duck."

"Yeah," the actress quipped. "But how dorky was that?"

Earlier this year, Close sparked concerns among fans after posting an emotional update from her family home in Bozeman, Montana.

On Thursday, August 27, the Fatal Attraction actress shared a poignant video on Instagram in which she wore a treasured family heirloom while watching the sunset.

The 79-year-old Hollywood star told her fans, "Hi Everyone, I'm home, calming down, wearing my mamma's shirt and letting the wind blow through my white hair and watching the sun go down. I feel blessed. Hi to you all. Bye."

In the post's caption, Close wrote, "And Pip is right behind me," referring to her Havanese dog. The personal video sparked concern among her followers, with many expressing worry about her health following the deaths of both Dolly Parton and Tim Curry that week.
