Kathy Griffin is trying out a new look.
On March 16, the comedian and actress posted new Instagram photos of her dramatic hair transformation, which took her signature fiery red hair to a bold, icy platinum blonde.
In the photos, the 65-year-old star can be seen rocking a long hairstyle with bangs, which she has yet to address whether or not is a wig. She wore a casual outfit including a sweatshirt with the phrase "Ice Out" on it and jeans that really made her latest 'do stand out.

Griffin leaned into the shock around her new image with her caption, writing, "And you guys thought you knew me…"
The new enhancement comes months after Griffin revealed that she underwent her third facelift and an "upper eye job" (medically known as a blepharoplasty) last year. In an episode of her Talk Your Head Off podcast, she called herself "so vain" for going through with the procedure, which was done by Beverly Hills, Calif.-based celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Talei.
"No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face," she said, explaining, "You come to hear my jokes, which is what I want. I don't want you to come to care what I look like."
However, when she went in for her appointment, Griffin told the doctor to give her a "good yank," per what she revealed to Entertainment Tonight.

"You know, another reason why I did it is, I had cancer twice," Griffin, who revealed her diagnosis of stage one lung cancer in August 2021. "I thought, you know what, I want to do a surgery where afterwards it's something more positive and my vanity took over."
When appearing on the Good Guys podcast after her 64th birthday last November, she confessed that her enhanced look came with a hefty price tag. “It was not cheap," she began. "You ready? 218,000 [dollars]." Shen then kidded about the amount of "dick jokes" she'd have to tell to pay back the six-figure amount.
Griffin has opened up about her plastic surgery journey and past struggles with her appearance before. In her 2009 book, Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin, she said that she got a nose job at 26 because of Hollywood's beauty standards.
“I was told repeatedly, ‘You would be pretty if it weren’t for that nose. You’d work more if it weren’t for that nose. Hey have you considered getting a nose job? You would think I had a nose the size of Texas," she wrote. "I was young and impressionable and I was told that enough that I started to believe it, so I got a nose job.”

But today, she's feeling good in her skin, so much so that she had the confidence to put her figure on display in a tiny bikini during her November 2025 appearance on Sherri Shepherd's talk show. “I have no shame,” she said.
And with her new look has come a new chapter, especially in regard to her dating life. She told PEOPLE at the Out100 Celebration last fall: "I'm on four freaking apps. It's just embarrassing. I've gone on three different dates so far. They were all nice guys, but I didn't really feel the connection. I just think it's funny that I'm on there as myself anyway."
