Kim Kardashian debuted one of her shortest haircuts in years during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on October 16.

The Skims founder chopped her signature long black hair 12 inches shorter. She paired the new haircut with a low-cut, peplum dress in black and strappy heeled sandals.

On October 15, Kardashian, who turns 46 on October 21, wore a barely-there crochet dress with strategically placed strings.

Kim Kardashian underwent an autumn refresh this week. On October 16, just days before her 46th birthday on October 21, the Skims founder debuted a dramatic new haircut that may be one of her shortest looks in years.

Kardashian showed off her hair transformation while promoting Season 2 of her Hulu legal drama All’s Fair on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

In photos posted by her hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, on Instagram, Kardashian showed off her “soft and edgy” new hairstyle. Dubbed the “Kim-ITRIS” wispy haircut—a combination of “Kim” and “Dimitris”—the runway-inspired haircut featured blunt ends with a wispy finish. “To achieve this haircut texture, I love using razors,” Giannetos captioned photos of Kardashian’s waves, which fell just past her shoulders. Giannetos added that the length is meant to allow the mom of four to easily wear her hair up or down.

Not including wigs, the hairstyle is Kardashian’s shortest hair since the bold, shoulder-length lob she debuted at the Oscars in March.

For her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kardashian opted for a strappy maxi dress with a low-cut scoop neckline. The all-black ensemble notably featured a dramatic peplum silhouette with sculptural detailing around the waist. She completed the outfit with strappy black heels, no jewelry, and a flawless naked manicure. She kept her makeup neutral, opting for a nude lip, bold mascara, and black eyeliner.

Kardashian’s super-short haircut isn’t her only eye-catching hair transformation this year. In the past six months alone, Kardashian has jumped from a golden-blonde shoulder-length lob to a bleach-blonde bob and a tousled look with a freshly trimmed set of bangs.

Just days before the big chop, the The Kardashians star put her signature long black hair on full display during a pre-birthday celebration. For the special occasion, Kardashian donned a brown crochet dress composed of strategically placed strings and let her lengthy waves flow in all directions.

While her hair may be significantly shorter now, the styling possibilities are truly endless.
