At the London premiere of “Mother Mary,” which was already a cornucopia of fashion fabulousness, Michaela Coel showed up in a look that felt more sculpted than stitched. Wearing a spectacular ensemble from Loewe Fall/Winter 2026 Ready-To-Wear collection, Coel stepped out in a strapless top.
This was constructed entirely of cascading strings. This vibe was flawless, and it ended up turning texture into the main character energy. The look also worked beautifully for her toned and elongated frame.

Michaela Coel always knows how to make her mark, and that is exactly what she did at the London premiere of “Mother Mary.” Up close, the piece read almost like a controlled unraveling. Hundreds of cord-like strands fell out in uneven lengths, creating movement even when she was standing still and posing. There was no traditional structure here and no obvious seams or panels. But it was pure controlled chaos on display.

Furthermore, Coel’s look was all about tension and drape, with the fabric behaving more like an artsy installation than a garment. What made it work so elegantly on Coel was the restraint in styling. The silhouette was clean, the palette stayed muted, and everything else took a step back so the texture could speak. Paired with sleek black bottoms, the look avoided tipping into disarray and stayed firmly in that sweet spot between experimental and wearable.
While the runway version leaned even more into that undone energy, with the strands swinging freely as the model walked. On the red carpet, though, Coel reined it in just enough. It still felt bold and a little disruptive, but grounded by her charming presence. This was classic Loewe under Jonathan Anderson. Familiar shapes, pushed far enough to make you look twice. In addition, Michaela’s makeup, with pretty, blushed cheeks, was clearly on point.
