*Pluribus* fans who are eager for season 2 of Vince Gilligan’s new sci-fi show may need to exercise some patience.
The *Breaking Bad* creator tells ** that he doesn't want to rush the story following season 1’s finale, which aired Dec. 24 on Apple TV.
"We’re working on it,” he shares. “It takes us a while. I would love to go faster if I could.”
Gordon Smith, an executive producer of the series, adds, “You know how on a timeline, there's usually an arrow that points towards infinity? Well, I think we're on the arrow somewhere.”
*Pluribus*, which follows *Better Call Saul*’s Rhea Seehorn as a romantasy author fighting against an extraterrestrial “virus” that turns humans into one big happy hive mind, was named Apple TV’s most-watched show earlier this month.

Gilligan says the news “amazed” him. “I feel very fortunate that people are responding so favorably to this show.”**
Alison Tatlock, also an EP on the show, shares, "It's just so gratifying that so many people are along for the ride."
However, *Pluribus*' popularity isn't influencing the creative team's pace, and they don't have a set date to begin filming season 2.

"As much as I am so grateful for the fans digging this show, we’ve always found our best way to proceed is to be in our bunker creating this thing and not pay too much attention to reactions of any sort, positive or negative,” Gilligan says. “We’re kind of the first fans of this show, the first viewers of the show, and we kinda try to make ourselves happy.”**
"The way to tell a story is to keep doing it the way you did it back before you had an audience," he continues. "That has always worked best for us."
All episodes of season 1 of *Pluribus *are streaming now on Apple TV.**
