Prince William once endured a "circus-like" spectacle that his three children will probably never face thanks to one significant factor.
The Prince of Wales has lived his entire life under intense public scrutiny, but the royal appears determined to create a markedly different upbringing for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
According to royal reporter Chris Ship, William was filmed "driving to the doors of Highgrove [House]" just hours before he was scheduled to sit his driving test - a scene that one royal commentator characterized as a "circus." It comes as William was described as "cold" on a podcast.

Speaking on the latest episode of Talking Royals, royal author Simon Vigar said, "It's a circus that George, Charlotte and Louis are not part of because, as I say in the book, William and Catherine have been very clear about building a big wall between what's private and what's public. That's a change. That's history not repeating itself."

He suggested that Kate Middleton and Prince William appear committed to providing their children with a "Middleton childhood" - explaining why they're unlikely to mirror their father's experiences growing up, reports the Express.
Vigar added, "Okay, we get to see them at Tropping, we get to see them on the big occasions and we get photos on birthdays but, as someone said to me, those kids are having a Middleton childhood. [George, Charlotte and Louis are] not having a William and Harry childhood."
William has previously revealed another strategy he's using to safeguard his children right now - keeping them away from mobile phones and social media platforms.

During an interview with Brazilian television presenter Luciano Huck from the Domingão show last year, William revealed that George, 13, Charlotte, 11, and Louis, eight, still don't own mobile phones. Discussing his careful approach to technology, he said, "It is really hard. Our children don't have phones."
While acknowledging that George will eventually be given a mobile device, he indicated it would probably happen when he starts secondary school - though only with "limited access."
It comes as royal commentator Kinsley Schofield sparked backlash on her podcast over comments her guest made about Prince William. Speaking on her podcast, Schofield discussed Prince Harry's departure from the Royal Family's unwritten "never explain, never complain" rule.
She was joined by royal expert Nicole Lampert, who admitted, "William seems to be quite cold, so maybe we want him to be a bit warmer." The journalist went on, "I think when Harry was in the UK recently, we saw him preparing for the Invictus Games and joking around with people; we missed that joviality in the Royal Family."
