Rosie O’Donnell reignited her long-standing feud with President Donald Trump by mocking him for using a catering cart to leave Air Force One during her second night as guest host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday.

O’Donnell, 64, opened the show crediting the president for making her ā€œre-famousā€ with his frequent insults.

ā€œI’m so grateful to be filling in for Jimmy and to be hosting a talk show on network TV once again,ā€ O’Donnell said, continuing:

ā€œThis has been kind of a strange experience for me because all of a sudden I’m re-famous. I’m back in the spotlight, all thanks to President Oompa J. Loompa, who is watching us this evening from inside a catering cart.ā€

O’Donnell closed the segment by addressing Trump, 80, directly. ā€œYou know, I couldn’t have done it without you, sweetie,ā€ she said. ā€œYou brought me back, just like you did with fascism and the measles.ā€

The comedian’s roast of Trump is based on reports that he left Air Force One in a catering cart and switched planes last month while returning from a NATO summit in Turkey.

The switch was a security move based on an alleged Iranian plot to target the aircraft and late-night hosts have poked fun at the incident repeatedly since it became public.

Jimmy Kimmel selected O’Donnell for his summer rotation of guest hosts, calling her ā€œa special treatā€ for the president, referencing their two-decade-long feud. O’Donnell has two more nights hosting the show.

O’Donnell’s public conflict with Trump dates to 2006, when she was a host on The View and the beef has continued in the years since.

Trump posted an edited photograph of O’Donnell on Truth Social this year and wrote that his administration was ā€œgiving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenshipā€ after she moved to Ireland, adding that she is ā€œnot a Great Americanā€ and is ā€œincapable of being soā€ in his opinion.

O’Donnell responded in an Instagram post, writing: ā€œHey donald — you’re rattled again? 18 years later and I still live rent-free in that collapsing brain of yours,ā€ she wrote, continuing:

ā€œYou are everything that is wrong with America — and I’m everything you hate about what’s still right with it.ā€

During her first night hosting the show, O’Donnell discussed her move to Ireland without naming Trump directly, then told viewers, ā€œYou know, right now he’s in the White House crying because I haven’t mentioned him,ā€ according to the Daily Beast.

Despite the jab at the president O’Donnell did not focus on Trump during her second monologue.

O’Donnell told journalist Kara Swisher earlier this month that she was thankful for the hosting opportunity. ā€œI plan on doing whatever we can and working with the writers and his team and honoring just how brave and bold he has been,ā€ she said, referring to Kimmel.

The former TV host also publicly denied a rumor that she is going after Kimmel’s job but teased a possible return to daytime television.
