The 2026 Winter Olympics are underway after a dazzling opening ceremony and with a packed schedule of competition ahead, American viewers tuning in will need to take note of the time difference between the U.S. and Italy, where the Milano Cortina Games are taking place.
Competition began on Feb. 4 with some preliminary matches and events are set to continue through the closing ceremony on Feb. 22. The Paralympics will take place the following month, from March 6 to March 15.
The venues in Italy are six hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and nine hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time.
With just days left in the Olympic Games, Norway leads the medal count, followed by the United States and Italy.

Saturday, Feb. 21, kicks off with 4-man bobsled heats, with the medalists being determined during runs on Sunday.
Saturday's medal events include the mixed team aerials in freestyle skiing, men's 50km cross-country skiing, men's ski cross, mixed relay ski mountaineering, women's 12.5km biathlon, men's and women's speed skating mass start, women's freeski halfpipe and 2-woman bobsledding.
There's also the bronze medal game in women's curling, which will see the U.S. compete against Canada; the men's gold medal game in curling between Great Britain and Canada, and the men's bronze medal ice hockey game, which will see Slovakia face off against Finland.

Sunday, Feb. 22, is the final day of competition, as well as the closing ceremony.
The U.S. men's hockey team will face off against Canada in the gold-medal game, and Switzerland and Sweden will compete for gold in the women's curling final.
