With the NFL trade deadline less than a month away, the Pittsburgh Steelers may have a few big decision to make before the important date. This is especially true when it comes to quarterback Mason Rudolph, who may be more valuable as a trade asset for Pittsburgh.

The Steelers are swimming in quarterbacks at the moment, with two veterans and two young quarterbacks hoping to become future starters in the league. It's fair to assume that Aaron Rodgers isn't going anywhere, nor are the young options in Will Howard and rookie Drew Allar. Rudolph, on the other hand, could be enticing to other quarterback-needy teams around the league.

Rudolph should easily be viewed as one of the top backup options at quarterback, appearing in 36 games and making 19 starts, as well as holding a 9-9-1 career record. He's also thrown for 4,925 yards and 30 touchdowns, in addition to having experience in multiple offensive systems.

When it comes to potential trade landing spots for Rudolph, there are quite a few interesting options. The Philadelphia Eagles, for example, are dealing with a major quarterback controversy as Jalen Hurts recovers from a serious blood clot. The Los Angeles Chargers just placed their top backup quarterback, Trey Lance, on injured reserve with a groin injury. The Washington Commanders, although they saw starter Jayden Daniels return to action, unfortunately had Marcus Mariota go down with a right knee MCL sprain.

Rudolph is an important backup for Pittsburgh's offense, but his value beyond 2026 takes a nosedive. The Steelers would be wise to capitalize on the multiple quarterback injuries plaguing the rest of the league and get whatever they can in return for Rudolph.
