Taylor Swift continues to bring people together.
PEOPLE recently spoke with the cast of The Last Thing He Told Me about season 2, which premiered on Friday, Feb. 20, on Apple TV and follows Hannah Hall (Jennifer Garner) as she fights to protect her stepdaughter Bailey (Angourie Rice), whose father's reemergence after five years on the run puts the family in danger. With such intense scenes, the cast and crew created some traditions to keep the energy high behind the scenes.
“There was a lot of Diet Coke consumed,” Judy Greer quips. “We had Taylor Tuesdays, which was on Tuesdays, we wore any Taylor Swift garments to work.”
Rice adds that the weekly theme “took off in a way we weren't expecting” after she and an assistant director named Brooke came up with the idea in the early stages of production.

“She's a huge Taylor Swift fan, so, on Tuesdays, we would wear our Taylor merch, we'd listen to Taylor in the hair and makeup trailer,” the actress explains. “Brooke would also actually, on my call sheet, she would doodle a Taylor Swift-related sketch for me, and I would have to guess the song based on a sketch, which I think just shows you how wonderful and caring the crew is.”
“It was always such a fun game,” Rice continues. “I'd get the call sheet and I'd think, ‘Oh, what's this doodle or what's this? Oh, it's an Eiffel Tower. This one's referenced [Swift’s] song ‘Paris.’’”
The show also filmed in Paris at one point, which Greer said made for many off-camera moments she will never forget.
“We snuck away every day to some bistro for lunch,” she recalls. “I think I ate an omelet three times a day in Paris. That was a dream. It was just really special.”

She goes on to share that when everyone arrived in the French capital, Garner, who also serves as an executive producer for the series, arranged a boat ride for the group on the historic Seine River.
“It was this beautiful sunset boat ride where we rode. all of us together. by the Eiffel Tower, looking at all these [landmarks], like the Notre Dame,” Greer says. “It was just incredible to be there and to be shooting this show there with so many people that I know and love. It was a dream.”

Greer and Garner’s friendship goes back to 2004, when they starred as frenemies in the beloved rom-com 30 Going on 30. Like in that film, the pair again play characters who clash in The Last Thing He Told Me, which Greer says seems to be a pattern.
“It's the best to get paid to hang out with your friend, that's for sure,” she notes. “It's funny that we keep playing characters that are at odds with each other, too. I wonder what it would be like to work with her when we were like the best of friends and really into each other. We always joke about that."
“Then we would never have to get separated on set — because there were times where we had to stay away from each other, especially with some of those dramatic scenes that we had together,” she further reveals. “I would be like, ‘Stay away. You are a stone. You are a ghost. I need to be not around you until we're done shooting this moment.’”
