*The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives* will resume production on season 5 after halting last month amid a domestic violence investigation involving Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, ** has confirmed.

PEOPLE reports that neither Paul nor Mortensen will be filmed when production resumes. However, TMZ reports that Paul will film "at some point."

In an Instagram comment Wednesday morning under PEOPLE's report claiming she won't be filmed, Paul wrote, "Interesting, that’s not the call I got."

EW has reached out to Hulu for comment.

Production on the fifth season of *The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives *was paused on March 16 after the Draper City Police Department in Utah opened an investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident between Paul and Mortensen.

On April 14, Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office announced that new charges will not be filed against Paul.

During the investigation, TMZ published a video on March 19 of a prior incident from 2023 in which Paul can be seen throwing a chair at Mortensen in the presence of her oldest child. That video led Hulu's parent company, Disney, to pull the plug on Paul's season of *The Bachelorette* just three days before it was set to premiere on ABC.

"In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of *The Bachelorette* at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family," a Disney Entertainment Television spokesperson said in a statement to ** at the time.

At the time of the 2023 incident, Paul was arrested and pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault. She was was placed on three years' probation, which ends in August, as part of a plea deal that saw prosecutors drop the remaining charges.

A representative for Paul responded to ABC's decision in a statement to PEOPLE. "Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security," the statement began. "After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm."

The statement continued, "There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story."

A representative for Paul previously criticized the release of the 2023 video in a statement to EW.

"It's sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child," a representative for the reality star said. "Releasing an old video, which conveniently omits context, on their son's birthday is a reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior. Thankfully, the public has seen this act before and knows who he is and sadly, many will recognize this pattern of manipulation, both in his actions on the show, and from their own experiences."

Paul was first announced as the next star of *The Bachelorette* in September. She filmed season 4 of *The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives* before beginning production on *The Bachelorette* in October. The dating show wrapped production in December, according to Paul's Instagram, and was scheduled to premiere on March 22.

Paul shares a son and a daughter with her ex-husband, Tate Paul. She began dating Mortensen, a real estate agent, years prior to *Mormon Wives'* premiere in September 2024. The couple, who share a 2-year-old son named Ever, have had an on-and-off relationship throughout the reality show, and ended season 4 on uncertain terms.

A source previously told EW that Mortensen was focused on raising Ever. "He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor," the source said. "It's been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to co-parent well."

In an interview with EW prior to the investigation, Paul said she cut off contact with Mortensen in the hopes of keeping her son out of the spotlight.

"I actually took action about a few weeks ago. I'm just doing third-party everything — pick-up, drop-offs, communication — so no contact right now for me," she said. "I think that's the best case, honestly, because clearly it's just not to a point of us getting along, so I wanted to take the best action I could… I didn't want to bring anything to the public eye, making it a bigger deal for the sake of my son, and just everything about to come out. But that wasn't the plan for [Mortensen]."

Mortensen was granted a temporary restraining order against Paul, as well as temporary custody of their son, on March 20. Paul filed for her own protective order on April 7.
