The new Mummy movie has a title.

The fourth installment in the franchise will be titled The Mummy: Book of the Dead.

Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz reunite for the film, in theaters Oct. 15, 2027.

The Mummyfranchise is returning after years of preservation, and the latest installment now has a title.

A year before its official release on Oct. 15, 2027, Universal Pictures announced on social media that the forthcoming sequel will be titled The Mummy: Book of the Dead.

The film will see the onscreen reunion of Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, who played Rick O’Connell and Evelyn “Evie” O’Connell, respectively, in The Mummy (1999) and The Mummy Returns (2001). Fraser also returned for the 2008 standalone sequel, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, in which Weisz was replaced by Maria Bello.

John Hannah, who plays Evie’s brother Jonathan Carnahan, is also back for Book of the Dead, with Michael Johnston, Numan Acar, Kevin J. O’Connor, and Oded Fehr rounding out the cast.

On Wednesday, Fraser and Weisz were photographed in costume on the set in London. Entertainment Weekly’s sister site, PEOPLE, obtained photos of the costars smiling together in between shooting scenes.

During an interview at the Deauville Film Festival on Sept. 7, Fraser told French television network Canal+ that the fourth Mummy installment had officially started production.

He also teased on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in May that the movie would “give the audience what they have been bothering all of us for for the last 20-whatever years.”

“What we’re gonna do is saddle back up, go back to the locations ... I should probably stop talking like this before I give anything away,” Fraser joked at the time. “However, I know that — please wish me luck. I’m doing my best to get this 57-year-old gear in shape.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett — who directed the Ready or Not films, as well as 2022’s Scream and it’s sequel, Scream VI —are set to direct the Book of the Dead, from a script by David Coggeshall (The Family Plan).

Producers include Sean Daniel, who has produced five previous titles in The Mummy franchise, William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein for Project X Entertainment. Clayton Townsend also produces, while Hivemind’s Jason F. Brown and Fraser serve as executive producers.

Book of the Dead will be a direct sequel to The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, despite the existence of Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Plot details are under wraps.

The original Mummy film starred Fraser as treasure hunter Rick, who travels to Egypt in the 1920s with a spunky librarian, Weisz, only to accidentally awaken a supernaturally powerful high priest.

Tom Cruise’s 2017 The Mummy reboot was a separate entity, as was the 2002 spinoff film, The Scorpion King, which marked Dwayne Johnson’s first leading role.
