Todd Boehly and Mark Walter are open to selling their stakes in Chelsea to majority owner Clearlake Capital in a deal that would value the club more than £5bn.
The Financial Times have claimed that Boehly, the Chelsea chairman and co-controlling owner, and Walter have already held talks over the sales of their 12.8 per cent stakes in the club.

Boehly, Walter and Clearlake have all declined to comment. Walter has already sold his NBA franchise, the Los Angeles Lakers for £9.2bn, amid an investigation by the US Attorney’s Office over potential financial misdealing.
