Social media users think the president has lost his edge, even when it comes to coming up with mean nicknames for his political enemies.
The 80-year-old's latest target is Senator Jon Ossoff, the Georgia Democrat who is seen as a rising star in the Democratic Party.
With the Georgia Senate contest developing into a major electoral battleground, the pressure is mounting for both parties. Following Trump's 2024 victory in the state, Republicans are hopeful about flipping the seat. Democrats maintain strong confidence in Ossoff, an incumbent often likened to Barack Obama due to his charisma and speaking ability, particularly as he prepares to run against a scandal-ridden MAGA opponent.

In response to GOP Rep. Mike Collins winning the Republican primary runoff election for the U.S. Senate in Georgia this week, President Trump took to Truth Social to write, "So happy for highly respected Congressman Mike Collins. He will win his Senate Race in Georgia against a pathetic, failed Dumocrat Senator, Os(jerk!)off, who is a joke in D.C. Nobody even knows who he is!!!"

Some social media users cringed at the lack of creativity in the nickname coming from the man behind names like "Sleepy Joe Biden" and "Gavin Newscum."
One user wrote on X, "He's losing his touch. Not at the top of his name-calling game. Sad."

Another said, "'Os(jerk!)off' is a new low for Trump, comedically speaking. He's still got the occasional fastball, but he's been on a downward trend for a few years now."
"He really thinks he's being clever, which is sad," another user chimed in.
The president went on to write, "I'll be doing Big TRUMP Rallies for Mike in Georgia! President DJT."

Collins is considered a "political nepo baby" because his father, Mac Collins, served in the House from 1993 to 2005. Collins was already viewed as the favorite in the runoff election before Trump offered his last-minute endorsement.
Collins made headlines last month when he fired his chief of staff, Brandon Phillips, after a post from his campaign's official X account made a heinous comment about a woman who accused former NBC News anchor Matt Lauer of rape and later attempted suicide.
In a statement, Ossoff called Collins a "notorious bigot, antisemite, and extremist currently under federal investigation for the illegal misuse of tax dollars."
"Collins, who is only a congressman because his daddy was a congressman, voted to double health insurance premiums for more than a million Georgians, for the Iran war, and for the Trump tariffs," Ossoff said.
Ossoff and Collins will go up against each other for the seat this November. Many speculate that the 39-year-old Democrat will run for President in the 2028 race.
